Parent Tip
by Jenny Peters

I have been doing a lot of thinking about what works best for our family with child, and here is what I think:

1)  Love and Logic.  When faced with a transition that we know is probably going to be rough, I will give Katie two positive choices.  For instance, "Do you want to read 1 book or 2 books before going to bed?".  She feels in control which makes the situation much more manageable.

2)  Music Therapy.  We have had Kasey Little as our Music Therapist for over one year now and she has really helped with Katie as far as interaction, movement to song, and turn taking.  We value Kasey and my child absolutely adores her.
