Happy New Legislative Session!
(figured everyone was tired of "Happy New Year!")

I am sending this out to this Action Alert list I have created for Texas --- which consists of parents, professionals, organizations, agency personnel, policymakers, and Legislative assistants....
Many of you know me through Texas Autism Advocacy - a network and website I created to be an un-biased forum of information exchange for all in Texas.

Most recently with the elections and our upcoming Legislative Session, I have created two new forum's where all in Texas can stay connected and share information freely....

Texas Autism Politics - for the discussion of candidates for current elections; and Texas Autism Legislation - for discussion of items of interest to the Autism & Disability Community during an active

Legislative Session....
I created Texas Autism Legislation, because this session, perhaps more than ever, the difference will be in reaching the most parents possible, for support of pending Legislation that will help families who have a loved one with autism or another disability.   Even though this forum has "Autism" in the name, many items of Legislation affect families no matter the disability....  So, I encourage those of you who have mail lists, to please forward this e-mail to as many parents as possible, so they can be informed of what is going on this Legislative Session!

I hope that many of you who are actively involved in the legislative process in Austin and who are Legislative Assistants and Policymakers, will at least consider joining Texas Autism Legislation, to help facilitate discussion of the issues this session, and to most importantly gather additional support for the bills we all agree would benefit families with autism or other disabilities in Texas.

Through the networking list, Texas Autism Legislation, you can upload files and documents of interest to this Legislative Session...  as well as sample support letters, hearing notices, etc.  As a member of the networking group, your information will reach all who are subscribed to the group.
I will moderate closely to ensure the discussion stays on task and does not steer in a direction that is not productive.
