Tip for Finicky Foodies

If your kids are having trouble at meal times with refusals try changing your presentation of the meal.  When we load our kids’ plates with a variety of nutritious foods (with the best intentions); we might be overwhelming their sensory systems.  Try reducing the food amount or even go to a “one-piece-at-a time” method to increase acceptance of food.  Start with preferred foods, and gradually introduce new semi-preferred foods and finally non-preferred foods.  Remember to move in small steps to avoid overwhelming your child.

If your child regularly chokes or gags on foods, seek further medical advice.
