Parent Tip of the Month by Kathy Berney

Here’s an idea originating from the Temple Grandin books (Emergence & Thinking in Pictures) where she described receiving a calm feeling when she squeezed her torso area.  My daughter has been wearing really small, tight-fitting camisoles underneath her clothes to try to achieve this same sensory effect.  I recently found some for her by “Xhilaration” at Target that are created with 95% Cotton and 5% Spandex.  The material is the same as is used in workout clothes, so it “breathes.”  Here’s a picture just to give an idea.  She wears the smallest size possible, and I located these near the dance clothes.
