June, 2005
One famlies' hard work generates results.
The Outreach Program has been busy in
across the country helping many families with
trainings in ABA and advocacy support. I could
speak non-stop about all the amazing children
and families I have met in the past two months
alone; however, I would like to highlight one
family here for you.
Austin is a three year old little boy with
autism we first met in March, 2005. After our
two-day parent training in ABA, his mother,
Jeanine set up her own home-based program for
Austin. She not only works tirelessly with
Austin, she also hired and trained two young
women. We had the pleasure of doing a follow-up
meeting with Austin and his team at the
beginning of June. Wow! I applaud Jeannine and
her team for working with Austin – their hard
work is paying off! Austin has learned many new
skills, reduced most of his stereotypic
behaviors and has started talking!

receptively label a “shoe” with his new therapist
Jill at home in Texas.
